“What are the negative consequences of corruption?” 188 Armenian organizations participating in the survey “The Role of Business in Combating Corruption: Armenian Reality” conducted in the period from September to December 2018

The  survey was conducted in the scope of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” implemented by the “Center for International Private Enterprise”, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association, the Corporate Governance Center and the Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with financial support of National Endowment for Democracy.

According to the results of the survey, financial losses (25%) is on the first place of possible negative consequences of corruption, the second is the risk of reputation (21%), the third is corporate negative environment (20%). It should be noted that corporate reputation and corporate environment are intangible assets that affect the company’s value and may cast doubt on the company’s long-term sustainability, including financial. The respondents also point out the unhealthy environment, the sense of guilt before the public that you also feed vicious phenomenon were pointed as other implications.
