Relationship of the Tax Code and Anti-Corruption Compliance for Businesses

Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry conducts a series of trainings named "Amendments to the Tax Code and the Anti-Corruption Compliance in Business" in the scope of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project which is implemented by the “Centre for International Private Enterprise”, the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, the “Corporate Governance Centre” NGO and the “Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry” with financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy.

The course aims to increase the level of awareness on the private sector on the new amendments to the Tax Code and introduction of business rules. Relevant information and free consultations for further implementation of their own anti-corruption program in companies will also be provided within the framework of the training,

Mr. Vladimir Amiryan, the Advisor to the President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Yerevan, Coordinator of the Business Advocacy Network and Director of International Relations Department of Yerevan CCI presented the necessity of introducing anti-corruption compliance program in companies, and the importance of business community in legislative amendments.

The participants discussed the expected changes in the Tax Code, and both, the positive and negative aspects of those changes for the business. They also touched upon the relationship between the Code and the compliance program.

Trainings have already been held:

  • On March 4, in Ijevan, Tavush Marz,
  • On March 6, in Armavir, Armavir marz,
  • On March 11, in Ararat, Ararat marz,
  • On March 22, in Abovyan, Kotayk marz.

The training in Yerevan will be held on March 29,

Shareholders, directors, board members, accountants, and lawyers of the companies can participate in the training.

The training will take place at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Armenia (Address: 11 Khanjyan Street, Yerevan).
