International Anti-Corruption Conference will take place in Yerevan. Corruption Risks in Business Sector will also be addressed

On 17-18 April 2019, a Government-Civil Society International Expert Conference on the “RA Anti-Corruption Strategy and Its Envisaged Mechanisms under International Experience” will be held in Marriott Armenia Hotel, Tigran the Great Hall.

The conference will consist of 6 parts: 1. Presentation of the RA Anti-Corruption Strategy; 2. Independent Institutional Anti-Corruption System; 3. Law Enforcement Activities in Fight against Corruption; 4. Law Enforcement and Preventive Activities in Fight against Corruption; 5. Preventive Activities in Fight against Corruption; 6. Anti-Corruption Education; 7. 3 Parallel Break-out Sessions.    

The Conference is organised by the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Armenia, the Armenian Lawyers’ Association and the CSO Anti-Corruption Coalition of Armenia in the framework of the “Commitment to Constructive Dialogue” project supported by the European Union, and in collaboration with United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) and the Centre for International Private Enterprises (CIPE) in the frameworks of “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project.

The event will be opened by RA Minister of Justice Artak Zeynalyan, H.E. Piotr Antoni Świtalski, the Head of the European Union Delegation in the RA, RA Prosecutor General Artur Davtyan, as well as a UN Development Programme Representative.

The session on corruption risks in business sector will touch upon topic of corruption risks in public procuremt sector, mining sector, the issues of business integrity and fights against monopolies and introduce latest tendencies of their solution such as Institute of Beneficial Ownership, Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs and etc.

This material has been prepared in the scope of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project implemented by the “Center for International Private Enterprise”, the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO, the “Corporate Governance Center” NGO and the “Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry” with financial support of the National Endowment for Democracy.
