On 24 September, 2019, the event “CAAP International Compliance and Anti-corruption Congress 2019” took place.
Mr. Tigran Avinyan RA Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Marcelo Wende General Manager of Armenia International Airports Company and Mr. Gustavo Nikoghosyan Corporate America Airports Compliance and Internal Control Director welcomed the participants.
Speakers representing the public sector were RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan and RA Deputy Minister of Economy Arman Hovnanyan. Emphasizing the importance of business commitment to anti-corruption, they presented the approaches provided in the draft anti- corruption strategy of the Republic of Armenia, as well as the role of corporate governance.
During the conference, Mariam Zadoyan, Lawyer/Attorney and the Project Manager of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association of (ALA) component in the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project noted that trainings with business representatives of Yerevan and regions were conducted within the framework of the mentioned project where all the components of Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs were presented in details. Further, SMEs have introduced anti-corruption compliance policies aimed at improving corporate governance, fostering anti-corruption and ethics values. These policies are designed specifically for SMEs by ALA.
