The Armenian Lawyers’ Association NGO in the scope of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project implemented by the “Center for International Private Enterprise” (CIPE), has undertaken a commitment to introduce ACCP (Anti-Corruption Compliance Programs) in Armenian Businesses, which will promote the cultivation of corporate governance and ethics values in Armenia.
Continuing the awareness series, we present to the business companies information on collective actions.
What is a collective action?
It is a sustainable process of stakeholders’ collaboration, which enhances the impact of individual actions, brings together vulnerable private sector representatives around their supporters, and ensures equal rules of the game for competitors.
Collective actions can complement or temporarily replace weak local laws and reinforce anti- corruption practices.
Collective actions may include common commitments, mutual support, information exchange, and consolidation of anti-corruption resources. They can be organized through business associations or inter-branch initiatives. Collective efforts are aimed at reducing corruption through self-regulation and governance (CIPE).
It is possible to draw parallels between the challenges of collective action and the dilemma of prisoners.
