On 22 November, the Anti-Corruption School for Young Leaders hosted Ms Susanne Soghomonyan, the Anti-Corruption Expert, Member of Board of the Armenian Lawyers’ Association.
The questionnaires the “Role of Business in the Fight against Corruption” have been elaborated within the framework of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project, which is implemented by the “Center for International Private Enterprise” (CIPE), the “Armenian Lawyers’ Association” NGO (ALA), the “Corporate Governance Center” (CGC), and the “Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry” (YerCCI). 16 business organizations operating in Yerevan have completed the questionnaire and joined the program .
During the conference, Ms Narine Melikyan, the Chairwoman of the Corporate Governance Center presented the report on “Anti-Corruption Compliance in Business”.
15 small and medium-sized businesses will introduce an anti-corruption compliance package in their business in Vanadzor, Lori Region. They will introduce it the within the framework of the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reforms” Project.
Companies that have joined the program in Gyumri are involved in construction materials industry, dairy products, semi-finished products, machine tools, metal products, textile manufacturing, as well as accounting, hairdressing and media services.
15 organizations in the town of Gavar, Gegharkunik province, have become participants of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Program and completed the questionnaire “The Role of Business in Fighting Corruption: Armenian Reality”.

On 1 October, the “Armenia: Promoting Anti-Corruption Conduct and Reform” project, which is implemented by the Center for International Private Enterprise (CIPE), the Armenian Lawyers Association, the Corporate Governance Center and the Yerevan Chamber of Commerce and Industry was launched.
Anti-corruption national and international laws are equally applicable to all enterprises regardless of their size. There is no exception for small businesses. However, there is a general approach among regulators, according to which the measures taken by the company to reduce the corruption risk should be proportional to the size of the company and the risks to which it is exposed.
